YOGA & MEDITATION

Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, tone the muscles and cultivates health and well-being (physical, emotional, mental and social) through the regular practice of a range of many different techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow yoga uses the breath to connect yoga postures. It highlights our breath awareness and allows students to flow dynamically from one pose to another. Sometimes known as Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow can be adapted to suit most physical capabilities, through modifications and the use of props.

She completed her 350h Advanced Diploma Teaching certification with the Australian Yoga Academy in 2013, and was also certified in 2014 to teach the Level 1 Discovery Series by Nicky Knoff, Knoff Yoga School. She is currently working towards her Yoga Australia Level 2 – Intermediate (500hr) registered teacher status in 2015.

Lin credits yoga in bringing balance to her physical and mental wellbeing in her day-to-day life, and swears by yoga's power in seeing her through her pregnancies as well as the more challenging moments of motherhood.

She is passionate about continuously learning and sharing all that she can on the benefits that yoga can offer for the physical, mental and emotional landscapes.“

What to Bring

You may wish to bring a bottle of water, and a small hand towel. We offer blocks and straps at the studio, and whilst students are encouraged bring their own yoga mats, we do have mats available to rent. Students are also welcome to bring their own blankets if they are used to practising with one. We recommend dressing in comfortable clothing that ideally do not restrict your movement. We practice with bare feet, but socks can be worn during warm up and/or Savanasa (final relaxation) at the end of the class.

Meditation

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Meditation practices are techniques that encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things. With regular work and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energized states of mind.

Mindful meditation: Is meditation that focuses on being present with whatever thoughts arise without judgement. It includes a series of breathing techniques and body awareness.

Guided Meditation: Allows the meditator to be taken on a guided visualization to help you connect to your spiritual self within.
